Job Summary / Organizational Impact:

Responsible for manufacturing of  molds, fixtures, and gages; performing CNC machining and light programming; assembling, troubleshooting and maintaining molds.  The organization impact involves effective management of time and resources to meet required delivery schedules.

Responsibilities and essential functions

1. Machine molds, dies, tooling, fixtures, and gages.
2. Assembly and maintenance of molds and components.
3. Provide support to the engineering department through problem solving, recommendations, and drawing/design review for manufacturability.
4. Maintain all tooling center equipment, ensuring proper function; ensure tooling center is a clean and safe working environment.
5. Perform related responsibilities as necessary or required.

Qualifications

• Strong machinist skills, CNC and manual machines, including mills, lathes, and surface grinder, including set up of work pieces and experience in conversational programming of CNC machines.
• Ability to accurately interpret manufacturing drawings and identify critical features and tolerances. Ability to take responsibility for checking quality of parts produced, confirming that drawing tolerances are held.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work effectively, in a spirit of cooperation, as part of a team with the goal of producing the highest quality parts in an efficient manner.
• Familiar with rubber and plastic injection molds and have bench and tool assembly experience.

Desired Education / Experience

• Ideal candidate will have a minimum 6 years of experience working in the machinist/toolmaking trade

Sitting:  Remaining in the normal seated position.
Standing:  Remaining on one’s feet in an upright position without moving about, particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking:  Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
Lifting:  Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally. (Maximum weight of the object(s) 80 pounds)
Grasping:  Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and/or palm.
Repetitive Motions:  Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for the purpose of picking up items, typing, operating ten-key or performing data entry.
Talking:  Expressing or exchanging instructions and ideas by means of the spoken word.
Hearing:  Ability to receive oral information and/or sounds through the ear.
Seeing:  Obtaining impressions through the eyes of the distance, size, shape, motion, color, or other characteristics of objects.  The major visual functions are:
